The 5 Best Videos of Last Week

Run The Jewels “A Christmas F*cking Miracle”
This is amazing. I love the song, I love the video. Yes!
Phantogram “Black Out Days”
I have absolutely fallen in love with this duo from Saratoga Springs, especially after seeing them this sumer with M83 at the Hollywood Bowl (although I missed most of their set). The video is a collage of sensational images showing the resilience of the human body and the world we live in. The song comes from the band’s self titled EP [Universal Republic] and will also be featured on the album Voices due out February 2014.
Beyonce “Drunk on Love”
Get it, girl.
Kendrick Lamar “Sing About Me” Part 1
I don’t know how I skipped over Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City [Aftermath] all year but I did and I’m realizing now what I’ve been missing out on. I may be rearranging my Best Albums of 2013 list.. The video for “Sing About Me” is just as minimal as the song, allowing the lyrics and the elegant instrumentals to shine while also brining the artistic vision of visual artist Eddie Peake to life. It’s great.
We’ve seen this black light theme running through lots of videos in the past few months and it doesn’t really do much for me; however, if you can see past the neon lights, there’s a story to the video…which I’m still piecing together.
