February 2012 Releases
February album releases to get excited about!

Air – Le Voyage Dans La Lune [Astralwerks] In Stores 2/7
The French duo celebrates its 17th year together by releasing its seventh studio album. Their last record “Love 2” was so fluffy and well…yah…Airy!

Of Montreal – Paralytic Stalks [Polyvinyl] In Stores 2/7
Not from Canada or Greece “Of Montreal” hails from Athens, Georgia. The multi-talented and deep casted rock band returns with Paralytic Stalks.

The Twilight Sad – No One Can Ever Know [Fat Cat] In Stores 2/7
This band is a like a somber, darker Snow Patrol. With the addition of analog synthesizers and a darker more industrial sound, TTS looks to shake out in the U.S.

Cursive – I am Gemini [Saddle Creek] In Stores 2/21
Cursive has sold out many of its west coast dates already. They seem to be gearing up for “I Am Gemini” perfectly! Just in time for a spring run with friends Cymbals Eat Guitars. Get your tickets NOW!

Frankie Rose – Interstellar [Slumberland Records] In Stores 2/24
Frankie has been an important part of some very cool indie bands, including Dum Dum Girls, Vivian Girls and, my personal favorite, Crystal Stilts. This is her first solo effort and the single “Know Me” is a fantastic look at her washy, lofi, pop-like potential.

Sleigh Bells – Reign Of Terror [Mom+Pop] In stores 2/21
Love em or hate em’ Sleigh Bells does a great job at ripping your face off. They are ready, set and go for a Diplo Florida tour called “Paradise Lost”. Alcohol, Neon, Sleigh Bells and Diplo. A good way to warm up your winter. This is an important album for Sleigh Bells as they look to break the dreaded sophomore slump. Good Luck Derek and Alexis!

School of Seven Bells – Ghostory [Vagrant] In Stores 2/28
Mix Benjamin Curtis (formerly of Secret Machines) and twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (formerly of On!Air!Library!) and you have the recipe for School of Seven Bells. In October of 2010, Claudia left the band for personal reasons turning three parts into two. The Shoegaze machine returns in February.
Charissa writes about Lana Del Rey tomorrow!
