Fresh Tunes: February 2014

by Matthew Downes

Some great music is starting to roll out this year. A couple are a bit older, but appear on this killer soundtrack from the movie “Endless Love” that was released yesterday.  Its loaded with great artists and songs.  Although I cannot speak for the movie, the soundtrack is super appealing.  Get it now here!  Not all of these songs are on the soundtrack and the tunes that are on Spotify are added to our list at the top (look at the header of the website) that you can play right now!

You might remember Andrew Blunda as the guitarist from Paloalto.  Here is his solo project called Blunda. Killer bridge here!

Jam, jam and more jam. Big Gigantic rolled out their latest album The Night Is Young yesterday. Check out this tune they did with Cherub:

One of the most unique voices out there is from Kristian Matsson who performs under the moniker The Tallest Man On Earth. This tune is from his 2012 release There’s No Leaving Now which is also featured on the Endless Love Soundtrack.

This is the second single from Upstate New York’s Woods. Their new album With Light And With Love is slated to be released on April 15th.

The Bird, The Bee and The National‘s Matt Berninger? Sold. (Also, on the “Endless Love” Soundtrack)

Conor Oberst (aka mastermind behind Bright Eyes) has a new album coming out in May called Upside Down Mountain. This is the first song released from that album. Dates with Dawes were announced too!
