Fresh Tunes: January 2014

by Matthew Downes Its hard keeping up with all the new music that enters the world each week.  We try our best, with our small team, to sift and curate the freshest tunes available.  Here’s an early 2014 glimpse into some bands I’ve been dialing up two and a half weeks into 14. Cheatahs – “The Swan” Red Light is managing their self-titled LP set for release on February 10th of this year.  Pre-Order it here!

Lily & Madeleine – “In the Middle”

They were our “Up Next” this week and look to have their most prolific year yet in twenty fourteen.

Bipolar Sunshine – “Love More Worry Less”

Touring with super-band-on-the-rise London Grammar will get more ears on his music.

Cut Ribbons – “Bound In Love”

Also hailing from the UK, Llanelli to be exact, their mix of guitars and emotive drums looks to be radio ready.

Haezer – “Ghetto”

We respect electronic music here to a very high level.  Rarely to we uncover something from South Africa that deserves all of our attention.  Front and center Haezer, you bring that fierce noise that forces people to the dance floor.

Ken Loi – “Don’t Stop The Love”

The major difference between Ken and Zedd is marketing. Championed by TiestoDada Life, Benny Benassi, and Fedde le Grande should help raise his profile this year.
