Gals You Should Know (If You Don’t Already)
Los Angeles based Carina Round is intriguing, intelligent, risqué and foulmouthed. A sexy symbiosis of Fiona Apple and Lacuna Coil with a heavy dose of Bjork added in; she’s a woman who clearly marches to the beat of her own drum…although she actually plays guitar with Puscifer (Maynard James Keenan). This chick is bad to the bone and also seemingly sweet as pie. Listening to Carina’s tracks, my inner fierceness is inspired. Check out the single “Pick Up the Phone” from her solo album Tigermending which was released in May of 2012. She has a way of saying what every girl wants to say but can’t…or won’t.

MØ – This electronic soul/indie pop princess from Denmark has become one of my new favorites to bounce around to while I pick out my outfit for the day. A gorgeous, vibrant and airy old soul voice (Lana Del Rey meets Grimes) with lighthearted lyrics – “Oh, why do everyone have to grown old, wanna be free, wanna get ’em” It’s easy listening, fun and never over the top. Inspiring the girl power in us all, MØ is chic and edgy, with just enough street to keep the boys entertained as well.
