Do you love festivals?  Some of us do and some of us don’t, but a lot of the time the motive-to-attend comes from a killer lineup. We’re gonna list to you some of the best events and their lineups coming this year.  The only qualifiers are it must be a U.S. festival with at least two days and two different bands.

Buku Music + Art Project: March 8-9 in New Orleans, LA

STS9, Alt-J, Primus, Break Science, Passion Pit, Kid Cudi…umm yes please…

Snowball Music Festival: March 8-10, Winter Park, CO

Hit the slopes and then head down for a dance party – sounds like an amazing weekend!

SXSW: March 12th-17th in Austin, TX

The lineup is vast and approaching 3000 bands this year.  Have fun, I’d rather watch television then fight 6th street only to stand online to see a band.  I do enough of that in L.A.  Really more a conference than a festival, but it does qualify.

Ultra Music Festival: March 15th-17th & March 22nd-24th

Hoopla in the Hills: April 4th-7th in Athens, OH

EOTO and Keller Williams – enough said!

Euphoria Music Festival: April 12th and 13th in New Braunfels, TX

Two nights of dance party madness at the Whitewater Amphitheater!

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry: April 25th-27th in Brooklyn, NY

The tiny New York City festival hosts headliners Solange, The Roots and TV On The Radio.

Coachella: April 12th-14th & 19th-21st in Indio, CA

We’ll be here. Will you?

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival: April 26th to May 5th in New Orleans, LA

This is probably the most comprehensive event this year.  A new lineup rich with top and emerging artists.  Appearances by Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys, Earth, Wind & Fire, B.B. King, Widespread Panic, Maroon 5, Willie Nelson & Family, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Phoenix and Aaron Neville lead this long standing New Orleans tradition.

Bottle Rock Festival: May 9th-12th in Napa Valley, CA

Napa Valley is gorgeous in the spring and plenty of corks will be popped to celebrate this music, wine, beer, comedy and food festival.

Downtown Music Festival:  May 10th-11th in New York, New York

Very little information on this one.  Headliners include Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock) Purity Ring, Sky Ferriera, Diiv and others!

Hangout Festival: May 17th-19th in Gulf Shores, AL

Supposed to be a killer location and with a 3rd headliner yet to be announced this festival is very intriguing.  Stay tuned for more information!

Great Googa Mooga: May 17th-19th in Brooklyn, NY

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Flaming Lips and The Darkness are the headliners.

Sasquatch: May 24th-27th in George, WA

Coachella Part III? + Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons (who definitely got Coach-snubbed) and Nick Offerman.

Boston Calling: May 25th-26th in Boston, MA.

An entertaining lineup of Fun.The National, The Shins with awesome undercard acts Andrew Bird and Youth Lagoon make this a standout weekend in 2013.

Summer Camp: May 24th-26th in Chillicothe, IL.

2013 announcement includes moe. and Umphreys McGee for all 3 days and more!!!

Chaos in Tejas: May 30th – June 2nd in Austin, Texas

One for the heavier folks.  Iceage and The Damned will shine here.

Governors Ball: June 7th-9th in Randall’s Island, NYC.

The crossed out name will be the Slash-less Guns N’ Roses.  Adding Kanye West, Kings of Leon and Kendrick Lamar make this one of the top three festival lineups of 2013.

Mountain Jam: June 6th-9th in Hunter Mountain, NY

Jam anyone?  Where’s PhishTrey or STS9?

Jubilee Music & Arts Festival: June 7th to 8th in Los Angeles, CA

Indie Rock/Pop Festival in downtown L.A. featuring The Drums, Kitten, Free Energy and so many more!

Orion: June 8th-9th at Belle Isle in Detroit, MI

Just announced, you can watch a preview here. Headliners are Metallica, RHCP, Rise Against, Deftones and Bassnectar. Looks to be a lifestyle event with a TON of quality acts on the undercard.

No show poster yet, but here’s 2012 for ya.

Moonrise: June 8th-9th in Baltimore, MD.

This is why STS9 is not at Mountain Jam.

Northside: June 13th-20th in Brooklyn, NY

The lineup is slowly being announced.  Looks to be focused on Indie music from artists like Iceage, Black Flag, The Men, Ava Luna and Why?.

Lightning In A Bottle: July 11th-15th in Temecula, CA

Electronic fest on Lake Skinner has a new location this year.  2012 lineup.

Pitchfork: July 19th-21st in Chicago, IL UPDATED 3/04!

The king of music blogs always has an interesting lineup.  They’ve already announced R. Kelly, Belle & Sebastian and Bjork as headliners.  Here is the most recent update as of March 26th.
