Why You Should Arrive On Time…

With headlining bands having all the props, effects, lights, and well…popularity, sometimes we forget about the opening bands.  Even more than that, many people don’t even show up to a show until the headliner comes on and wind up skipping the opening bands altogether.  This concert season you may want to rethink checking what time the band on the ticket starts playing, and instead show up when doors open.   Here are some bands you won’t want to miss:

AWOLNATION is big, AWOLNATION is everywhere, AWOLNATION is exceptional.  AWOLNATION also has Mother Mother opening for them – a Canadian band that brings a sense of theatrics in their music in a dark and quirky way.   Catchy beyond belief, the tracks off their newest The Sticks will be ingrained in your head after the first listen – no matter how peculiar they may seem at first.

Anberlin has been around for quite a while, gathering a fan base consisting of emo-teens-now-turned-adults.  On their Winter 2013 tour they decided to bring along KTC favorite, Paper Route.  Electro pop infused rock has been their consistent approach, along with talent and determination.  If the good tunes don’t convince you enough, maybe our photo concert review will get you to go a tad earlier to the Anberlin show you’re already attending.

This summer Bruno Mars is taking over the US with his “The Moonshine Jungle” tour and who is he bringing along for the ride?  The soul pop, saxophone and organ infused Fitz & The Tantrums who will be sure to get you more than loosened up and ready to go for Mr. Mars.

The Killers have joined forces with The Felice Brothers, a folky ragtag band that hasn’t necessarily come out with an album in a few years, but sure are getting a run on all their touring (previously opening for Mumford & Sons).  Opening for The Killers is a pretty great feat, and The Felice Brothers seem they can handle such a challenge with their talented instrumentation and honest enjoyment of performing.

The Joy FormidableParamore..previously No Doubt..18 year old Chloe Chaidez and her band KITTEN have been on the bill for many huge artists.  Her intense emotional passion for her work is intoxicating to see, as well as the huge, intricate sound that ricochets off every wall will leave you speechless.
